FEMININE MUSE
3:05 PM
Last week on vacation I embraced Spring! I stepped out of my comfort zone and wore hot pink pants in an effort to match the mood of the excitement of the theme parks of Florida. It was in the spirit of "fake it until you feel it." I wasn't really feeling it, although I tried. My family was questioning my bold choice in color - it's so unlike me. I was spotted easily in my "Where's Waldo" outfit as seen on instagram.
I tend to lean towards earth colors and my wardrobe is a reflection of that in the sea of gray, greens, black, navy and cream. Wearing bright colors can make me feel uncomfortable. Although I like them on other people, I never feel like a need a "pop of color" to make a statement. That's just not my style. I prefer investing in classic wardrobe pieces for fashion and jewelry, and with both you have to start with basics and build from a solid foundation. It's fun to mix it up a bit with an edgy piece in the same tone, but that's as adventurous as I'll get. I'm noticing this is a clear statement of my own jewelry collection. Although it suits my individuality well, it may not appear to the every girl.

We are working on a custom design together for her Grandmother's diamond, and since Amy shares my love of antique designs (but in a more feminine way than I would wear them myself), I realize sometimes you need a muse to understand and explore other tastes. That is a way to truly blossom.
Amy has her own Alexis Kletjian rose gold bangle, and she styled it in one of her recent outfit posts. Pop over to her blog Cupcakes and Couture to see her outfit posts for the feminine 20 somethings Bostonian lifestyle, cupcake recipes and more!
Be sure also to visit her new etsy shop for her fun glitter champagne and wine glasses. You will be thrilled to have them on hand the next time you make a toast!
