ABOUT ME
I am the daughter of a goldsmith and as a child spent countless hours playing behind the cases in my parents' shop in the Boston Jewelers Building. I remember sorting gemstones and playing with the tools of the trade as a little girl, captivated by the magic and beauty of the raw materials. I marveled at the way they could be manipulated into works of art that could be worn on the body. I also had a unique vantage point from which to watch and listen to my parents' interactions with their customers. I loved the stories and the happy moments that were associated with their chosen pieces. Those early impressions inspired dreams of one day owning my own business where I would make and sell beautiful things.
As a young adult, I pursued an education and career in fashion design. Through my studies and years of practice in pattern-making, sewing, and textile manipulation, I developed an obsessive attention to detail and a fascination with texture and scale. All the while, my love of jewelry never faded and I continued to admire and search for interesting pieces that spoke to me for my own personal collection. After years of working in fashion and after I had my children, I felt my focus shifting more and more back to those early memories of custom birthday gifts and child-size sparkles found under the tree, the feelings of love, surprise, and happiness associated with jewelry. Guided by my passion, I decided to pursue the possibility of designing my first jewelry collection in 2011.
Now as full-time jewelry designer, I feel so fortunate to create pieces that are chosen by customers to celebrate their love, to commemorate momentous occasions, to signify special bonds. I believe that a piece of jewelry that is carefully chosen can be an empowering style statement as well as a physical connection to our memories and to those we love. Pieces that are worn throughout a lifetime become fused with our identity. As a designer, I believe in creating jewelry that will endure in quality and style, that can be counted on to be passed down through generations.
