OSCAR WORTHY : THE 2015 RED CARPET RECAP

I hear the phrase "Oscar Worthy" from time to time and when it's flung out there into the Oscar heavens, my left brain imagines vivid images of fashion and jewelry history gracing Hollywood's favorite red carpet. Golden statues, stunning gowns and impeccable grooming polished with jewelry pulled from the unfrequented vaults of some of the most legendary jewelry design houses. "Oscar Worthy" is phrase not only denoting opulence, yet a flourish of undeniable style and copious curated head-to-toe looks captured by countless photographers in the hopes of witnessing the iconic moment happening before your very eyes.
Most red carpets fail to deliver on such promises. After all, it's hard to always look your best - season after season - consistently at the top of your game. Harshly, we sit at home - judging - in groups or alone, yet we always watch a red carpet and vocalize our comments of displeasure or endorsement. Where are the jewels? Who's the stylist? What is she wearing? Why did she change into THAT? I've also had some of my own where's-the-jewels moments, read here and here, but I am happy to be partaking in the success of the red carpet excitement and favorite looks from the 87th Academy of Awards as the flashy red carpet did prevail!
Let's begin with Margot Robbie zipping up an iconic moment quite nicely, agreed?

So, if I were a dress, and I'm obviously not, this Alberta Ferretti gown would be me - it's so perfect!
The necklace is in an unfair competition and lost, sadly.

Laura Dern also wore a Bulgari ring in support of the American Lung Association's Lung Force initiative and I love that she choose to show this support. In her words :
"I have the privilege of wearing this ring that they made in honor of Cheryl Strayed 's mother Bobbi, who I played in the film, because she died of lung cancer. And turquoise is the color of the American Lung Associate initiative Lung Force to raise awareness about women fighting lung cancer," Dern explains while showing off the show-stopping piece. "And I feel so honored because Sheryl's story is so amazing and her mother was such a bright light. So it's great to be here with my family and celebrate her amazing story."
So beautiful.

Unless you have been living under a rock you now know the entire ear is now fair game. This is a trend I am still unsure of, but here is a tasteful climber from Forevermark of epic proportions. "Oscar worthy" and iconic all in one little pretty and petite Chloe Grace Moretz package. Even Town & Country was just spotted saying on their instagram in reference to Scarlett's earring choice, they can not ignore this trend anymore, a cuff, a climber...so there you have it, ears, brace yourself.

Sorry, Gwyneth, there really weren't that many flattering images of your beautiful face, your make up was a little goop-d on (pun intended) but this one shows your Anna Hu Fire Phoenix earrings off so well. I am still a Gwen fan, Goop and all. I also didn't mind your off-the-shoulder flower power! I enjoy a scant more avant guard on the red carpet, isn't that what it is for?
